Some of AMDs embedded products would be very interesting if used on a small form factor i.e. tablet or PDA like device. Perhaps iTV uses AMD components???

With the supply problems they are having right now AMD is not the choice to supply MacBook components. Not when Intel have the capacty and a very strong lineup of products (Core 2 Duo is what they had in mind when Apple switched - Core Duo was just a stop-gap).

People being gay and then teaching children gay history are 2 different things. I'm afraid that one is an affront that should not be tolerated by any good parent. I'd advise those parents to just pull their kids out of the public school system, which they should have never put their kid into in the first place.

And what is exactly your point? The specific app is not intended to be a part of the OS interface. It is using a more immersed, recreational interface, which makes it fun to use. (Have a look on the review here to see what I mean: http://www.inews24hs.com/2011/03/15/led-machines-�-led-flashlight-for-iphone-4-review/ ) Users enjoy the animations and sound effects. They are using it for the whole experience, not just for the usability of it.
On the other hand, OS interfaces are belonging to a different category. And although there is a trend to make the native OS apps more immersive (take as an example the new iCal. It uses an interface that tries to emulate a real object, a real leather Calendar), users could have given the option to switch between a more abstract UI style. The main reason of using native OS apps (such as ical, mail, etc) is more task centred rather than experience oriented. The ideal would be not using any interface at all and just have a personal assistant do all the hard work for us accepting voice commands. Hopefully we are not far away from something like that though�

I think Jobs said that it is "the software platform for the next one and a half decades". But whatever. I don't think that there will be another OS X after "Lion" - there must be a reason why they named it after the "king of the animals".
They will either merge iOS and OS X into something new or they will simply drop OS X altogether in favor of iOS. Since iOS is much more successful than OS X ever was and since it is getting more and more features and we are currently being trained - or better: conditioned - to even obtain our development tools through the AppStore, an "open" platform like OS X will very soon become obsolete for Apple.

wlh99, let me tell you precisely what I want to achieve, so there is no more confusion.
Two views;
View 1 is the ticker and a button underneath (button start.
View 2 is display (label) with the timer running and a button underneath (button Cancel)
Button Cancel will have two maybe three funtions ( stop the timer, reset it or just reset it at once and call View1 so the user can reuse the timer over again. That's it, I want to add that function to my App for 1.1 or it could be 1.4 if don't get to study now hahaa.
I'll take care of the alarms, sounds and those details if it reaches to zero, that I know already.
By the way, what's with 3rd person reference? the OP? you can call me Nekbeth or Chrystian, it's a lot more polite. Maybe you guys have a way to refer to someone , I don't know.

That is too bad, my latest electric bill is about the same as it's been all summer.
my power bill (which includes water and sewer) was $385 last month!
but i did finally get someone out to look at the a/c unit. i believe that is a big part of the problem. we'll see

While I agree with you overall, I think there have been plenty of features that NeXT-Apple has teased, but not ultimately delivered on. "Home on the iPod" is one and "resolution independence" is another, I'm sure there are more but these are two that might actually have mattered to me.

I voted this negative because Apple won't accept certain apps for doing reasonable things. "dangerous" if done incorrectly, but reasonable.
Until devs can do all of the low level things they need to, this is a bad move.

The iPhone looks pretty cool, but it's a logical progression - certainly not a revolution. If it was so revolutionary there wouldn't have been so many predictions about it. Instead, a lot of the predictions were actually aiming too high.
And it really is this fan-boy attitude of 'Steve is our hero, everything he does is wonderful' that keeps apple products so expensive. If you were all a little more critical they'd have to work a little harder to earn your money.
600 bucks for a phone (with contract) with only 8gigs of ram for my music? It's not 3G. It's got WiFi but doesn't do VOIP? I think I'll pass on this one.
Um, it's an ipod first.. and then a phone. *Only* 8 gigs for music? I would love to see you walk around with a Seagate 400 gb hard drive stuck to your ear.
Why don't you check out the Sony Ericsson W850i? Its got 4 gigs.. no camera, no wifi, no Safari, hell.. no OS X .. no phone has the photo management features of the iphone.. and it retails for $699.
And you think the iphone is expensive for what it has.. complain, complain. If you can't afford it, and you don't need it.. don't complain. It's absolutely stupid to compare pricing to other ridiculous phones when they don't even come close.

So gizmodo is responsible for this how? Questioning what makes an online a journalist a journalist and not just a fan site has been going on for some time (aka: before gizmodo turned off a bunch of TVs). In iTunes you can see a banner ad that says "Apps from iPad TV ads." That will take you to a page where you will see the apps.

As a teenager, my drawer came up $30 short one night while working at a small convenience store. That money was taken out of my paycheck. Sure, it was my fault - but does that mean the customer was absolved of any fault? No. That customer could have plainly said "You gave me $30 in change too much." Instead, she opted to keep it.
Exchanging a comforter at Bed Bath & Beyond, the sales rep somehow got herself turned around and I ended up with a free comforter. I alerted her to error and rightfully paid for that comforter. I've had things missed on reciepts at grocery stores and in restaurants. If I point out a missing appetizer or a missing beverage, many times a manager or supervisor will visit my table, apologize for the error, and insist that the missing item is on the house. They offer a thank you for the honesty.
This isn't the "moral high horse." More appropriate might be your lack of any morals at all.

Note that it doesn't say "The iTunes Music Store is being updated." That's a pretty clear sign to me that not only are they going to add movies, it's also now just going to be the iTunes Store.
