    Carlau,

Are you suggesting IV/logiclife promised to make H4 also be able to work 6 months ago, and now they back tracked.

And that was the reason you joined IV

I am very dissapointed but very glad you finally said it, wish you did 6 months ago.

We are languishing close to 85K. It is very important that we reach 150K very soon. There are some big decisions pending because of that.

That's bad... I had send one more contribution of $100, hope it helps.

Congratulations, and that is probably the most 'relieving' MTR approval message ever.

Thank you for sharing your story.

Definitely - some "comforting words after the person went through so much stress" looks like the officer knows what exactly to write :)

It is like a cardiologist saying "I can fix any kind of heart except a broken heart" :) :) :)

EB3 I is going to have a long wait. I had applied for Canadian green card and had received it. At present i have EAD and AP. Is it worthwhile to go into consular processing and work in canada or apply for a blue card or think about Australia. If this sounds okay how should i proceed.

Per Rajiv Khanna this is Possible.

I have posted the exact same question on Rajiv Khanna's website.
He did answered this question. According to him this is possible and also asked
him if i need to go out of US to get the H1B stamping, he replied this is NOT requried and
the new H1B Transfer will be approved with I-94 attached to it.

Reference: The Question is on Jan 17 Conference call on Rajiv's Website

If the Repubblican Senators will confirm its vote, the Filibuster will be impossible.
We will have 9 new senators, 7 dem, one Ind, and one repubblican.
Except the senator from Montana, all the news dems are favorable for the CIR., as well as the Indipent one. I don`t know about the new senator from Tennesse.
Also Kyl was talking about the original plan from Mc Cain (who will be a runner, which means that he needs the latino vote)-Kennedy, the one passed from the senate was little bit different. Let`s hope for the duck in anycase....

NYSE:GLD : SPDR Gold Trust holds physical gold
NYSE:SLV : iShares Silver Trust, the assets consist primarily of silver held by the custodian on behalf of the Trust.

SLV profile in yahoo mentions it tries to hold instruments to match SLV performance.
GLD claims physical gold holding in their profile. There is not holding detail on yahoo finance.
It will be interesting to dig into their actual portfolio holdings. But I agree that these are probably the closest instruments on gold and silver price play.

I dont generalize the L1 abuse. This is how it works L1 is meant for company transfer and not to work on consulting positions across United states. Please read the law completely before you know what you are talking about. These L1 people come through intra company transfer and work on $10/ hr jobs undermining the folks on H1-b and L1's too. I dont know about your case and i dont want to comment on it too but do see my point. Please just dont oppose because you have to.

L1's working for consulting should be stopped , it should be meant as intra company transfer for learning and implementation of company projects and not to work at client sites. Thats the law my friend.

No It was not a joke.

If you think you earn way more then go ahead and contribute more. I just put dollar amounts in front. Many desis here work at 55-65K per year and that is roughly $30 an hour. The ideas is get off your high horses and earn money through sheer labor to get the job of funds done. I see no problem with that.

Hey, dude, I hope that this was a joke :D

Because I doubt that anyone willing to wash my car for a few bucks is highly skilled. Personally, I prefer, give 1 day of salary - that's way over $25, and far more effective (I get paid more than $25 for the time it takes to wash a car).

    [edited]
Huum, I rather thing that it was not a joke. No offense intended.
The dinner and movie is the best idea.
Actually I think that the other ideas to be "less than optimal", thus I thought they were a joke.

    What are YOU smoking????

Did I say I am special? Don't put words in my mouth. So if you think that abiding by the law makes one special, then I am guilty as charged :-)

Your "fingerpointing" and "why are you special" comment really cracks me up :D

The fact that you are honest makes u special :D :D

I am unfortunate that I may not be like u :(

This is one of the important threads. It's really time to cleanse the system and imbibe faith in the employer/employee relationship.

We do see such threads on the forum occasionally where the employee is being cheated/asked to sign a contract/is not being paid on bench/employer is threatening etc etc... There are several instances where members have posted negative comments about consulting companies and how employees are unhappy working for them.

    Is this really true?

I want to understand the reasons why people are not filing lawsuits against such companies yet? Why are we not reporting them to DOL and USCIS? Especially after filing I485 and expiry of 6 months, people are in a better position to file lawsuits against such employers.

IV can help only if people are willing to be helped and ready to take action.

If this system needs to be cleansed, then why aren't we doing it?

That is one of the fastest EADs I've heard? Pretty good

Yes, that is right, I said ?plight of EB2-India?.

I am a passive observer of these forums. But some of the ridiculous notions floating around here have motivated me to vent. First and foremost, the law as written is highly favorable to people in EB3 categories, even from India. Here is how...

Take my example (and there are thousands like myself)....came to the US 8 years ago, spent 5 years working day and night to earn a PhD on a low (barely sustainable) stipend, got FIRST job saw decent money for the first time 6 years after I came.

Now, compare this to a person working an EB3-job for the last 8 years. Not only does this person do a real job that hopefully provides a respectable income but this person also has the option of moving to EB2 after 5 years of experience. So, at the end of the day in 2008; this person comes out ahead of me in terms of money, in terms of priority date (if ported) and most likely in terms of GC.

There are complaints all over the forum which have the stink of pretentiousness such as ?oh..i am a poor EB3 waiting for n number of years? etc etc. What you guys seem to forget is that YOU are NOT an EB3, it is your JOB that is EB3. You have all the opportunities that were/are available to a person who sweated it out in the university system here to gain more qualifications and get an EB2 job. You CHOSE not to. The general discussion seems to center around cribbing about the US immigration system (Immigration by the way is a privilege defined by laws, not a birthright) and then blaming the EB2 crowd when they finally see the system implement the law as intended in the first place (horizontal spillover rules).

All these posts that refer to ?my career is over because my gc is delayed? are nothing but a pathetic excuse. Law of supply and demand....if you have a skillset that is valuable, you will be fine with or without GC anywhere in the world. It takes a bunch of documents to remain here legally, all you need is a passport to go back if the system here seems so bad.

For all the attacks that are bound to happen, here is the fodder.....this is probably my first and last post, I haven?t contributed a dime to IV, will work here as long as I like it and if not, India is a great country and provides enough opportunities for any skillset !!

I feel education should be rewarded (Every where). High skilled should get prefference.

chaanakya may be you should consider putting your words in soft intangiable worlds...
