So, new movies this week? or do we have to wait until next?
Probably at the same time as the Merom MBP.
I bought one, just to test. Wasn't bad, would buy more if they add a title I want.

EDIT: @adk - yes I am 16, however in this situation my mother was in the car and actually encouraged me to cut the idiot off. So it's not just an age based thing.

Hmm...I think Belkin calls this 802.11n. This isn't new. Gimme a break. People are really scrounging around deep now.
Look Apple has been keeping secrets it wants to be secret very secret for over a year now. The rumor sites have been so off this year, except for the obvious, that they'd need a power plant to get them back to being on. I'm not buying any of it. I'll be sorely disapponted if all we get is a Disney movie store, a 80GB iPod, a 23" iMac, and an array of colorful nanos. Zzzzz. Put me to sleep.
The nano was the last buzzworthy product Apple has put out in a year (I'll spare you the MPB jokes). Apple is due with something cool; something to compete with PS3 dollars this Xmas.
Are you insinuating that Apple should put out a gaming system to compete for PS3 dollars, or just the holiday dollars in general and right now the PS3 is the "Hot Ticket" this coming Holiday season?
Just wondering.....

Apparently Sting is to be involved in the launch of the brown Zune. 5% will go to fight diarrhoea in Africa.
;)
(PS don't flame me. Diarrhoea, unlike the brown zune, is not a laughing matter.)
I thought "African Diarrhoea" was the technical name of the Zune's brown colour. You wait and see, next year we'll get a new colour from MS for the Zune - "Delhi Belly Explosion" a sort of greenish-brownish-orange...
Ah dysentery... it's funny on so many levels. ;)

I think my next computer will be an Ivy Bridge MBA with Thunderbolt. My 2007 Macbook is getting a bit long in tooth.
I have a Rev D MacBook Air (11") and also think the Ivy Bridge will be a worthwhile upgrade. There is now no reason why that one shouldn't have USB 3.0, or Thunderbolt, plus Ivy Bridge, unlike Sandy Bridge, will have a GPU as fast as the NVIDIA 320m.

Whats the speed of thunderbolt? and will it be faster then sata 3.0
Capped at 10gb/s on the copper version. SATA 3 is 6gbps.

Does this mean we will see a resolution downgrade to that of the 13 macbook pro's?
Why would you think that? The Intel IGP can drive the same resolution on the 15" just fine.

From looking at the picture, should it be a fact that the red iPod nano is coming out? It doesn't look like a rumor that I see red iPod nanos on display.

The TDPs are around the same as with previous gen, or possibly even less (the TDP of 320M is unknown). Also, Turbo Boost will only be activated if the thermals allow that. If your CPU is already running at 90C, then Turbo most likely won't kick in.
I doubt SB will make MBA run noticeably hotter.
Agreed. Though I thought SB was roughy 10% more efficient in regards to TDP, than previous core gens...thereby making it a thermal improvement. Also, no cooling requirements for a 320m...all on the SB chip.

The Apple laptops are a staple machine for Mac using pro photographers so this would be a perfect event to announce an upgrade along with a new version of Aperture. It would look rather odd to have new C2D iMacs and MacPros without an upgraded MBP.

I bet it's somewhere in the ToC that none of us read.
Are you sure? Cause people are claiming that its not in the ToS/ToC.

It's interesting. Every single poster here clearly disagrees with your actions (which are undeniably illegal) and your justification (including your improper blame on the woman driving in front of you). And yet, it's everyone else that must be wrong, not you.
Like I said, it's interesting.

Are there any Thuderbolt devices yet?
sigh... I haven't even seen cable adapters, I kinda expected a ThunderBolt to eSATA adapter quickly...

There's no chance apple is releasing MBP's tomorrow. There are too many things pointing towards early/mid-Sept.

$100 million? Yikes.
And thats getting off easy. This amount of money is nothing compared to the profits Apple have made off using 'Creative's technology'. And it bodes well for Apple cos they can continue using it :)

Aiden, it's just not like you to make a statement like this without adding the links...
http://www.spec.org/cpu2000/results/cfp2000.html ;)
Note the Dell Precision Workstation 390 (Conroe) and the Precision Workstation 690 (Xeon 5100).
3 GHz Xeon - 2775
2.93 GHz Conroe Extreme - 2872
That "horrible buffered memory" is about a 3.5% handicap....at most. (The memory, chipsets, motherboards are all different.)
And one shouldn't say "but the FB-DIMMs are clocked faster" - the buffering is what enables the faster clock, as well as what adds the latency. The two tend to balance out, and the net result is that you can put 64 GiB of RAM on the Xeon - which you couldn't do without buffering!

Call me spoiled by all things thin, I think the iMac is looking pretty chunky these days. Not sure why it isn't significantly thinner than it is. The next time they do update the form factor it should essentially look like a giant first gen iPad.
That would be just fine if all you wanted was iPad performance.

Just for those that insist Microsoft only ever uses the term 'program' . XP dates back to 2001.
