There's pretty much no chance in hell of Ivy Bridge coming out in September, let alone anything earlier than 2012. The only thing we might see this year is a added spec bump option like the 2.8 GHz Core i7 option (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/10/20/15-inch-and-17-inch-macbook-pros-receive-2-8-ghz-core-i7-option/) that was added to the 2010 MBP's.

I have to agree with the OP. Most of the front end features such as Launchpad and three+ finger multigestures are from iOS. Sure there are some tweaks under the hood, but for desktop/professional users of OS X, I need power refinement not cute little icons that wiggle. Leave that **** to the iOS kiddies and focus on OS X. The only thing Apple is doing is dumbing down OS X to make it easier for the iDevice groupies to move into laptop systems or an iMac.
Apple doesn't give two ****'s about us professionals who kept them from folding during their chapter 11 days in the 90's before Jobs came back. It's all about consumer market share, making their products in Taiwan now and $50+ billion in cash reserves.

Duff-Man says....maybe, maybe not....but you will need something like Data Recycler (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18235) which will try recover.....oh yeah!
And the longer you go on using your Mac, the lower the chance of successfully retrieving your files is.
This is because the Mac 'sees' the space on the HD as unused and will write over it given enough time.

I noticed last year in my MGT 410 Course, Business Ethics, that Apple was ranked for having the worst management staff. Please note that that is in relation to board members that potentially hold a conflict of interest.
Several years ago Apple was cited as an example of a corporation with too few independent directors. An effort was made to correct that issue, IIRC. A number of "outside" directors were brought in at that time. Al Gore, for one. Given the apparently length history of this, I expect the guy most likely to be the target of a necktie party would be Fred Anderson, the CFO for all of those years. He's already gone though.

Hi there,
maybe this is a silly thing to do but my question is...I have a mac mini server with 2 500GB drives in a mirror set. If i break the mirror set and boot from one of them and install an update and an update breaks the system technically could i boot from the other drive and rebuild the raid?
Technically may be possible, but I don't recommend it. RAID is not a backup solution it is a redundancy/high-availability solution.
Things like ESD (Electro Static Discharge) could damage the disk you remove without you even realising it.
If you want a bootable backup, use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable clone.
Or if you simply want a backup use Time Machine.

From the FAQ:
What is an "infraction"?
An infraction is a semi-automated reminder from the moderators about a rules violation. The forum system sends you a standard message about the rule, and may include an explanatory message from one of the moderators as well. Even though one moderator's name is shown, it is not a personal issue; the moderators operate as a team and know of all assigned infractions.
Infractions are private. The infractions you see on your user profile page are visible only to you and the moderators.
Although the forum system assigns "points" and durations to infractions, they are meaningless in practice. We do not use these features. Instead, we use infractions merely as reminders about the rules.
Please do not ask others to share their infractions.
If you want to discuss it further, use the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page.

I've read that review too many times my friend! After snooping around on the web, it turns out that the fours simply add a control / mic module.
I'm also interested in the Astro A*Star earbuds. Anyone have experience with those?

yet it needs to be said that the radioactive fallout from 1986 still has an health impact: in austria and germany health organizations still advise pregnant women and children to keep consumption of hunted game animals and eatable funghi within certain limits
especially with bigger game animals the meat can exceed legal limits

How about you help me clean out my guttering, install my new home entertainment system or cook me dinner?
I am really sick of people expecting free work, what you are asking maybe a 20 minutes hour job (tops) due to the fact I work in Weather Graphic but relying on $10K of equipment, $45K HECS Debt for a university degree and over 10 years worth of industry experience...
Asking for someone to working without reparation of some sort is completely unreasonable and devalues what many designers work for (and that is money).
What most designers don't mind is pointing people in the right direction, critiquing or giving them references to work from, not actually doing it because you do not have the skill level or can't be bothered doing the work yourself.
I feel compelled to respond to this post. I hope you can take this the right way.
Why I feel compelled is I have been following similar threads like this and it seems you appear in every one with a similar response. As if you're looking out for such threads.
The OP never asked for a professional for free help. He didn't ask for someone with huge investments in software, equipment and education to give him a helping hand. Yet you respond as if he directly asked you for help.
What if he wanted someone who had some knowledge and experience for some advice. Someone who's good at what they do but do it as a hobby. I'm sure there are many of us that are willing to help people and I sincerely hope it's not wishful thinking on my part. I also cannot believe that you got to where you currently are without a helping hand or freebie at some point of your life. I know I have learned most of what I do from asking people at IRC and Usenet and now regular forums and I'm grateful for their help and wish to return the favor to others who need it.
Josh.

It tinted the images green when re-processed or imported under the new RAW 3. So happy to have this fixed!
I hope they fixed this tinting problem on more than just the 3 cameras listed-- I've been having the problem with my D80 and Aperture 3 is dead to me until this is fixed.
Why couldn't the camera-specific details live on a central website that the software drivers could pick up "live" when needed, and cache for later, so we wouldn't keep having to pick up these updates to keep up?
That's kind of what's happening, no? In this case, the driver is picking up the details through Software Update hitting the Apple config website.

You don't need to do the File --> Finalize Project. Just go to Share and Export Movie and then select the type of file you want. It will only save one file in the format you choose and not four different ones. See attached screen shots.
